The Corpus Christi police were working in conjunction with the Houston police to capture and arrest the two suspected bank robbers. The pair is suspected of robberies that include a La Quinta Inn, an adult video store, along with other robberies in the Houston area and one altercation with a third man that ended in the shooting of a Baytown resident. The Corpus Christi police stated that they found no weapons in the room but seized the pair’s vehicle and are going to obtain a warrant to search it for evidence. They also stated that both Garcia age 27 and Barajas age 34 have long criminal histories and their crime spree was becoming more violent, proven by the shooting in Baytown.
Both Garcia and Barajas were taken into custody without incident once police gained entry to the motel room.
