Why does it seem even more tragic when accidents happen around the holidays? Sadly, they happen, and seem to happen even more often. Here in Los Angeles that is very often.
It can be a depressing time for some, causing them to drink more than usual, and for some, they drink more to celebrate.
A few days before Christmas, an intoxicated driver caused a head-on collision that ended with the death of a vehicle passenger in north central Harris County, according to investigators. Someone may need a good Houston accident lawyer in this particular case and maybe a wrongful death, DUI or personal injury lawyer overall.
A report titled, “Intoxication blamed for fatal crash,” posted December 21, 2010, by Andrea Watkins for the news web site My Fox Houston, stated that witnesses informed Harris County Sheriff's deputies that a woman driving a Saturn sedan was heading southbound in the northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 59, the Eastex Freeway.
All in all, this particular case sort of reminds me of a DUI or DWI case in Manhattan which occured a while back that was a result of criminal negligenece. By the way if you need a great Los Angeles car accident attorney then I do suggest this top firm which also does personal injury plus car accident related cases in Los Angeles.
Sgt. Susan Cotter with the Harris County Sheriff's Office was quoted as saying, "According to witnesses, the female that was going the wrong direction on the freeway was driving approximately 90 miles per hour at the time of the crash."
Apparently the Saturn smashed head-on into a Mercedes heading northbound just before 2:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Andrea Watkins quoted Sgt. Cotter as saying the 22-year-old driver of the Saturn was charged with intoxication
